Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee and maintain our helicopter company’s facilities, including three helicopter hangars, offices, and surrounding grounds. The ideal candidate will ensure that all facilities, equipment, and operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently to support our aviation and ground operations. This role involves managing maintenance schedules, ensuring regulatory compliance, coordinating with contractors and service providers, and overseeing safety protocols within a highly regulated and secure environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Facility Maintenance and Management
- Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of three helicopter hangars, ensuring they meet safety, security, and operational standards.
- Schedule and manage preventive and corrective maintenance for facility equipment, including HVAC systems, lighting, safety equipment, and electrical systems.
- Ensure that hangars, offices, and grounds are clean, organized, and ready for operations at all times.
- Safety and Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all facilities comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as aviation safety standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments; address and resolve potential hazards promptly.
- Maintain documentation and records for inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance
- Operate and maintain specialized equipment such as tractors, snow plows, mowers, and forklifts to support hangar and grounds operations.
- Ensure all equipment is in safe working condition through routine checks, preventive maintenance, and timely repairs.
- Train and certify personnel in the proper and safe operation of equipment, as needed.
- Coordinate seasonal tasks such as snow removal and grounds maintenance to minimize disruption to operations.
- Vendor and Contractor Management
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance, repairs, and installations as needed.
- Negotiate service contracts, manage budgets, and monitor the quality of services provided.
- Budget Management and Reporting
- Develop and manage budgets for facility maintenance and repairs; monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare reports on facility status, maintenance schedules, and capital improvement projects for senior management.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in facilities management, preferably within aviation, aerospace, or a similar industry.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as CFM (Certified Facility Manager), FMP (Facility Management Professional), or similar are highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and preventive maintenance.
- Familiarity with aviation industry regulations and safety protocols.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for vendor management and team leadership.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with operating and maintaining grounds-keeping equipment
Working Conditions:
- Physical ability to conduct inspections in and around hangars and other facilities.
- On-call availability for emergencies or urgent maintenance needs.
